Share the passion

Hi there,

Things have been a bit quiet, since I’ve been enjoying the bush with some friends. Nevertheless, a Merry Merry X-mass to start with.

In one of my last posts, I talked about 500px and how to get some traffic to your account. And without wanting to analyze what worked for me and what didn’t (I will do that in my next post), I must say that 500px has been one of the more rewarding tools to get my work out there. A special mention to Mickaël Lootens, who made me realize how privileged I am with this comment to my mother earth pic: It’s one of my dreams to see what you shoot… I can tell you that such a comment makes you think for a while and definitely boosts your morale when you start pondering about your life and current situation. Thanks Mickaël, highly appreciated! Btw, check out Mickaël’s work here, he has a stunning landscape portfolio, showing the world you don’t have to be in an exotic place to create a stunning shot, I absolutely love it (having wandered through exotic places for some time now, actually makes the places close to home exotic to me ;-)).

One last thing I would like to share about 500px, save yourself the frustration of thinking that when you love somebodies work, the person will automatically also like your work, it simply doesn’t work that way!

Not having had time to go through my recent images yet, I want to share the following shot from a friend of mine, the interaction is just stunning.

And while we’re at it, just processed one of my own shots from last WE as well.

Canon 7D, Canon 300 mm f/4 L IS USM, 1/1000, f/18, ISO 1000

Off to the bush again, will catch up again in the New Year! HAPPY NEW YEAR

And one last gorilla post for the road

Dear all,

Canon 350D, Canon 75-300 @ 140mm, 1/100, f/5.6, ISO 400

Some 3 last gorilla images to wind up this topic, … for the time being, since a good picture of a baby one, unlike the last picture in this post which is completely off is definitely high on my photographic bucket list.

Completely off, yet still worth sharing, too cute and far from guaranteed when visiting them. By the way, whenever you go to visit the gorilla’s, the Suza group is nice, yet don’t be disappointed if you’re assigned to another group, they will all equally amaze you!

Take care,

Guy
