Some minor changes and a quicky

Dear all,

Last week I received some feedback on the site from an old friend of mine. Together with some comments I had received before, it was the drop that actually made me make the changes. This kind of feedback is extremely valuable, so THANKS!

The main comment had been that my pictures were too far down the menu’s, I’ve adjusted that and would like to hear from you what you think about the current presentation: Nature portfoliobird photography, wildlife, monkey business and predators. All of them are now just one click away! On top of that I added the year the shot was made to the respective captions! Also on the pages, when clicking ‘send us a message’, your mail programme will automatically open, taking away another small barrier to get in touch with us in an easy way (if anyone would be struggling with this, just drop me a line). On request of a 500px contact, I have also installed an RSS feed, offering another opportunity to stay informed about developments on the site.

And for the quicky, please find a shot from our X-mass trip to Lake Baringo, taken during a late afternoon stroll along the lake, the light was just perfect and the bird taking a rest on this fence made it even more interesting (also nice to see that this shot is ‘going viral’ on 500px).

All this being said, more feedback is welcome and I wish you all a very nice week!

Warm regards,

Guy

Hi there,

Things have been a bit quiet, since I’ve been enjoying the bush with some friends. Nevertheless, a Merry Merry X-mass to start with.

In one of my last posts, I talked about 500px and how to get some traffic to your account. And without wanting to analyze what worked for me and what didn’t (I will do that in my next post), I must say that 500px has been one of the more rewarding tools to get my work out there. A special mention to Mickaël Lootens, who made me realize how privileged I am with this comment to my mother earth pic: It’s one of my dreams to see what you shoot… I can tell you that such a comment makes you think for a while and definitely boosts your morale when you start pondering about your life and current situation. Thanks Mickaël, highly appreciated! Btw, check out Mickaël’s work here, he has a stunning landscape portfolio, showing the world you don’t have to be in an exotic place to create a stunning shot, I absolutely love it (having wandered through exotic places for some time now, actually makes the places close to home exotic to me ;-)).

One last thing I would like to share about 500px, save yourself the frustration of thinking that when you love somebodies work, the person will automatically also like your work, it simply doesn’t work that way!

Not having had time to go through my recent images yet, I want to share the following shot from a friend of mine, the interaction is just stunning.

And while we’re at it, just processed one of my own shots from last WE as well.

Off to the bush again, will catch up again in the New Year! HAPPY NEW YEAR
